Stat Geek Alert: It was the 7th week this year that 30 or more contracts were registered--compared to 13 weeks of 30 or more contracts signed in the same period in 2023.
The No. 1 contract was 19D/20D at 211 Central Park West, asking $19,500,000; both apartments were sold by one owner who never combined them. The units were listed in February. The seller purchased 19D for $10,200,000 in August 2010 from the actress Glenn Close and later purchased 20D for $6,600,000 in May 2018. The two apartments have a total of 13 rooms including 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Apartment 19D has 2 terraces. Plans were drawn for a duplex by architect Peter Pennoyer, but the seller did not move forward with the renovation. The corner units together total approximately 4,400 square feet and feature dramatic Central Park and south views of the city. The units are in a building known as The Beresford. The seller paid $15,350,000 in August 2017. The building was built in 2015 with 35 units. Amenities include a doorman, fitness center, bicycle and storage rooms, and a laundry room.
