Forty contracts were signed last week at $4 million and above in Manhattan, three more than the previous week. Condos outsold co-ops, 33 to 4, and 3 townhouses were in the mix. The extraordinary streak of 30 or more contracts signed now extends to 17 weeks in a row.
The No. 1 contract was a townhouse at 76 Washington Place, asking $17.75 million; it was listed at the end of April. The 5-story, 22-foot-wide house has 4,636 square feet including 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. More than 1,300 square feet of outdoor space features a large garden and terraces off the parlor, third and fourth floors. The sellers bought the house in 2006 for $5.5 million and gut renovated it. The house does not have an elevator.
The No. 2 contract was PH10B at 90 Morton Street, asking $17.7 million. The penthouse condo has 3,593 square feet including 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and ceilings that are 10-7’. The unit features a 532-square-foot terrace off a 45-foot great room with a gas fireplace. It is the last sponsor unit to sell in this former printing plant that was converted into a 12-story, 28-unit condo that started marketing off of floorplans in the Fall of 2017. Amenities include a concierge, covered driveway, a fitness center, a 64-foot pool, residents’ lounge, children’s playroom, and a rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen.
